Cinnamon Roll Donuts!

A while ago, my friend showed me how to make donuts out of the biscuits that come out of a can.. Today, the idea hit me- Why not use cinnamon rolls?
I used a small pot, cooking oil, a can of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, and a spoon with holes in it. I'm not sure what these spoons are called.

 I set out the rolls...

I cut out the middles...

Then I popped them in about two inches of hot oil. The first one took forever to fry, but the donuts that followed after only took a few minutes each. Definitely watch them, they'll need to be flipped to fry evenly.
I put them on paper towels to soak up some of the excess oil. I also fried the middles. I love donut holes!
I just used the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls, but you could make your own if you prefer.

It's not the most attractive icing job, but I really wanted to dig in! They smelled SO good. I dipped the donut holes in the icing left in the little cup.

This is really easy, but a tad time consuming. I spent about 30 minutes just making 8 donuts and donut holes. It's not a grab and go breakfast, but it's really worth it. They were a hit in our house!
